I know there has been a bit of a gap since I last posed but I haven’t been resting on my laurels. I’ve been working on a few new projects along with my various sewing workshops.
One of them has been to develop a tweed clutch, felted & embroidered with a fish. It’s an image I’ve used before of a tench but I wanted to see how it looked on tweed rather than on silk, previously my base fabric of choice.
I’ve put on a few pictures of the embroidery in stages. Initially I felted into the Harris Tweed with wools & organza fabrics to create my base shape then stitched in to define the fish. See what you think of the finished piece.
If you want a look in the flesh so to speak, I will have some work on show, in my studio, this coming Saturday as Out of the Blue are showing people around the Drill hall as part of their celebrating 20 years in business.
